Thank you for visiting www.abstract-expressionist.com. About the Artist / Artist Statement
Lauren Jackson American, Born 1962, Brooklyn, New York
My work is inspired by the Abstract Expressionist and other modern art movements. I am seeking to produce art that expresses our spiritual connection to nature and the physical feeling of being alive, without the invocation of religon or use of iconographic content. Visually appealing, energetic and alive, my the work conveys energy and harmony, flow and solidity, light and mystery connecting the viewer to those parts of their human experience.
I was born in New York City to an artist/painter and a librarian and was raised primarily in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I earned B.S. and M.B.A. degrees and spent 16 years working in financial services in New York and California. In January of 2001 I decided to pursue a second career as a fine artist and started my own business called, "Lauren Jackson Fine Arts".
